Marina Mastrostefano discussed her dissertation “Econometric modelling of beef consumption” in 1983 at the University La Sapienza – Rome- Italy, Institute of Agricultural Economics, “Department of Economics” obtaining a grade of 110/110 with honours and publication. From 1986 until 2000 she was senior researcher / Professor at the University of Cassino, Italy teaching and tutoring on several topics linked to Food production, and International Trade of agricultural products.
She was appointed faculty member and jury member for course examinations and final dissertations. She has been Senior Member / Project Manager for several research projects founded by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and the European Union. From 1990 until 1992 she has been visiting scholar at the University of California – Davis working of a project on the power of multinational enterprises in the food sector. From 2000 until 2018 she has been working as policy analyst and senior economist for the Institutions of the European Union achieving a wide experience of the European food trade and health related issues.
In 2013 she obtained an MSc with distinction from CNELM Her dissertation focused on “Nutrition, lifestyle and socioeconomic variables as co-determinants of obesity and other chronic diseases”. The work was also presented among the invited paper at the 2 nd Annual Gulf Obesity Surgery Society Meeting – Dubai 10-13 December 2014.
She is currently attending the two-year degree course in degree course in herbal medicine at the EFP in Brussels. She does voluntary work at the St. Luc University Hospital in Brussels as a nutritionist.
