Research Interests
Dr Karin Seidler gained her PhD with a dissertation entitled “Biomimetic Sensors for the Detection of Microorganisms for the Application in Biotechnology and Process Control” at the University of Vienna, Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Food Chemistry in the “Department of Chemical Sensors and Molecular Spectroscopy”. She undertook post-doctoral research in Nutrigenomics at the Department of Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences in Vienna. Karin also graduated from CNELM (with distinction) and her MSc dissertation focused on the role of intermittent fasting in cognitive performance (targeting BDNF as key mediator in synaptic plasticity and neurogenesis to optimise brain health). Additionally, Karin studied Naturopathic Nutrition and Naturopathy at the College of Naturopathic Nutrition. She is Head of Student Research, research supervisor and module leader at CNELM.
