Why Weight Practitioner

Boost your coaching and nutrition practice and existing NLP skills (Neuro-linguistic Programming) with this online coaching skills course taught over 7 days each 3-4 hours, which focuses on the important role the mind plays in contributing to weight issues & energy balance.

Learn tools and techniques in applied coaching and NLP that facilitates a specialist approach to disordered eating and weight related issues.

Course Dates 2024
  • 19th & 26th September, 3rd, 10th & 17th October and 7th & 14th November

The course is an online learning programme. There is a mix of pre-recorded content and live online training and practice.

Each day participants will be required to attend a 1.5 hour training and review session in the morning (10:30am-12:00pm) and 1.5 hour peer practice session in the afternoon (1:00pm-3:00pm)

Self directed learning is required in preparation for live online review and practice sessions held weekly.

  • Why Weight – without assessment: £550

Please note that for those participants wishing to take the assessment component of this module insurance as an NLP Practitioner is required.

Entry Requirements

CNELM Students must have completed an NLP Practitioner programme or completed the NLP Practitioner Certificate at CNELM or equivalent and have insurance as an NLP Practitioner if they wish to take Why Weight Practitioner module with assessment. Most CNELM students that have completed days 1-7 of the NLP Practitioner course as part of their studies may apply to join Why Weight without assessment.

Course Overview

This course focuses on the important role the mind plays in contributing to weight issues, disordered eating and energy balance. It aims to provide you with a flexible therapeutic framework, variable in its method of application. You will learn how to empower clients to have a better understanding of their unconscious behaviours, emotions, attitudes and beliefs relating to their weight and what motivates them to change.

Course Content
  • This course teaches current mental technologies that provide rapid and sustainable change in an ethical, ecological and compassionate manner, enabling you to help clients to achieve their desired goals and to help solve their problems concerning weight and related issues.

  • It is a highly active and interactive experience with time to reflect on how learning can be applied in practice both personally and professionally

  • You will learn a variety of effective processes to encourage clients to realise the choices open to them, and you will also develop greater choice in how you work with clients.

  • The course builds on your existing NLP knowledge and also offers something new, which should expand your confidence and ability to help others.

  • If you take Why Weight with assessment you will have the opportunity to work with clients and receive feedback on your learning.

CNELM is a collaborative partner of Middlesex University (MDX). The undergraduate and postgraduate courses we teach are validated and  quality  assured by MDX. You will receive an MDX award on successful completion and be invited to attend a graduation ceremony at their campus.

The NTEC accredits courses for nutritional therapy. The BSc (Hons) Nutritional Science and the MSc/PG Dip in Personalised Nutrition combined with CNELM’s Personalised Nutrition Practice Diploma (PNPD) are accredited by NTEC.

The CNHC is the voluntary regulator for complementary therapists including Nutritional Therapists. Following successful completion of one of our accredited routes to nutritional therapy practice you will be eligible to apply to register with CNHC as a Nutritional Therapist.

BANT is a professional body for Nutritional Therapists that have completed NTEC accredited courses, or have demonstrated having met the NTEC Core Curriculum and National Occupational Standards set by Skills for Health for nutritional therapy. Practitioner members of BANT are required to register with the CNHC.

The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) has accredited CNELM’s Dietary Educator Certificate. On successful completion of this course you will be eligible to apply to register as a Dietary Educator with the FHT.

Students that meet verification standards for the ‘NLP Practitioner Certificate’ can apply to register with the Association for Neurolinguistic Programming ANLP.

Students registered with Qualifi that meet the outcomes of the Personalised Nutrition Practice Diploma (PNPD) Course assessed up to Level 6 will receive a Qualifi Endorsed Certificate. Qualifi is a recognised UK awarding organisation regulated in England by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
